with the debut of four innovative con-
cepts, landmark ideas that are good for
kids, good for today. They're only the
beginning, the first steps in Founda-
tions for Growth, Scouting's approach to today

Scorning September 1982
making discoveries in a way that seems almost all
play and no work for kids and adults alike.
• Cub Scouts at the Bear level will choose from a
super-enriched array of 24 achievements with the
addition of a high-activity, high-interest supple-
ment to the Bear Book.
• Children both in and out of Scouting will
become more self-reliant and safety conscious
