If you don't know Pluto from Goofy or haven't
the vaguest idea who Steamboat Willie is, you
might want to enroll in the two-day "Traditions" course at Disney
University. Every employee at Walt Disney World does, and that's
one reason management experts rank Disney's theme parks among
the finest in the family entertainment business.
Actually, Disney doesn't use the term "employee." Every ride
operator, hotel manager, costumed character, or grounds keeper is
considered a cast member on the Disney stage, and the orientation
course at Disney U. prepares each one of them for the millions of
guests that visit Walt Disney World each year.
By the way, if you're still scratching your head about those
questions at the beginning, Snow White's dwarfs are: Sleepy,
Sneezy, Doc, Dopey, Bashful, Grumpy, and Happy. Disneyland
opened in 1955 in Anaheim, Calif., and Walt Disney envisioned
Orlando, Florida's EPCOT as the Experimental Prototype Com-
munity of Tomorrow.
