MINUTES
JUNE 14, 1994
7:00 P.M.
Members Present: Mayor Steve Smith, Aldermen David Pitts,
Mac Stavenhaqen, Delmar Wiqgs, and Shawn Barker.
Members absent: Alderman Bobbie Kidd.
Others present: City Secretary Sue Howard, Ernie Johnston
Mary Linn Bills, Nelson Christie, Mary Neal Risley, Lucy Saye
Sue Dunagan, Walt Warner, and Pat Thornberry.
Minutes of the May 24, 1994, meeting were read, and after a
discussion concerning the action taken to sell the closed
street to Buster Gray, motion was made by Alderman David Pitts,
seconded by Delmar Wiggs, to rescind the motion made on PMlay
24, 1994, to sell the closed street to Mr. Gray. Motion carried.
Motion was made by Alderman M-1ac Stavenhaqen, seconded by
Alderman Delmar Tigas, to approve the minutes of the May 24, 1994
meeting. Motion carried.
Motion was made by Alderman David Pitts, seconded by
Alderman Delmar 17iggs, topurchase a 1983 International Diesel
Distributor truck for 13,500, with money out of the Improvement
Fund. Motion carried.
Dlary Linn Bills gave the Library report.
Discussion followed concerning the peddlers ordinance and
junked vehicles.
Nelson Christie, representing the "Save Our Depot" Committee,
asked the City Aldermen for their support in their efforts to
apply for grant funds to restore our historical train depot.
Motion was made by Alderman Mac Stavenhagen, seconded by
Alderman Delmar wiggs, to support this committee in their
efforts. Motion carried.
Discussion followed concerning the insurance bids process.
Motion was made by Alderman David Pitts, seconded by
Alderman Delmar Wiggs, to contact Gordon Maddox to develop
bid secifications. Plotion carried.
Bills for the month of May 1994, were presented, and uDon
a motion by Alderman Mac Stavenhagen, seconded by Alderman
Shawn Barker, said bills were ordered paid. Motion carried.
Fire Department Receipts and Disbursements for the month
of May 1994, were presented and upon a motion by Alderman
Mac Stavenhaqen, seconded by Alderman Shawn Barker, said
report was approved. Motion carried.
There being no further business at this time, motion was
made by Alderman Mac Stavenhagen, seconded by Alderman
David Mitts, to adjourn. Motion carried.
