More than 7,000 school-age children from around the Big
Country were treated to a taste of the old west at the 20th
anniversary of HSU's Western Heritage Day.
Children could find everything old west - from a working
cowboy kitchen headed up by trail boss Gary Stephenson,
to fresh biscuits, ring toss games and, quilter's nimble
fingers. They saw branding irons - and even take a branded
piece of wood with them. They also took part in washing
clothes on a scrub board, seeing the Six White Horses and
hearing a cowboy preacher.Bronco 33
