Smeraldina in "The Servant of Two Masters."Opening the fall semester was the play "Picasso at the Lapin
Agile" by Steve Martin. The play ran through the week of
September 28th to October 1st.
Steve Martin has created a fictional situation placed in the
early twentieth century where Palbo Picasso and Albert
Einstein meet at the Lapin Agile (Nimble Rabbit) in Paris,
France and debate the merits of talent and intelligence. Both
young men are on the verge of their great breakthroughs:
Einstein's Theory of Relativity and Picasso's painting "Les
Demoiselles D'Avignon." Each is sure that he is going to have
the greatest idea, but come to find that both are great ideas
in their own way. This comedy examines the importance of
science and art and their impact on a changing society. The
colorful cast of characters includes the caf6 owner, Freddy,Picasso's sexy young femme dujour, Picasso's art dealer
Sagot, and a mysterious visitor from the future.
On October 16th, "Peter Pan and Wendy" by JM Barrie was
performed and was student directed by Trey Foster.
Peter Pan makes nightly trips into London to listen to the
bedtime stories from Mrs. Darling. He flies into the nursery,
where he meets Wendy who helps him find his shadow.
Following her maternal instincts, she brings her little
brothers John and Michael along with her to the magical
Neverland to take care of the Lost Boys and make a home
there. After many adventures in Neverland, the Darling
children get caught up in a deadly battle between Peter Pan
and Captain Hook.
