PRESIDENT'S 1988 CHRISTMAS
REPORT
As retiring President of the
12th Armored Division Associ-
ation, I look back with much
reflection on the past year and
draw many conclusions about
our Association, the most pos-
itive being the fact that our
membership has remained
; stable. This has been due to
the efforts of our Membership
Chairman and Unit Reps, with
help from all members. Your
efforts reflect our strength as
an organization of members
who have a lot of pride and
positive attitudes, and are will-
ing to help with all your various
talents. I believe our pride and
attitudes go back to those war
years, knowing that our accom-
plishments reflect a job well
done, which gives us pride to
let others know we were a part
of the 12th Armored Division.
Our officers, both elected and
appointed, have done an out-
standing job in the office they
held. Our Unit Reps have pre-
pared their monthly articles
and accepted other responsibil-
ities in an exceptional manner,
and the same goes for our
Editor, who had the job of put-
I ting this all together. These
people are to be highly com-
^ mended, as their cooperation
and work have made my job
much easier.
I would be amiss not to give
much credit to our Executive
Secretary and Treasurer, who
have had the tremendous re-
sponsibility of discharging the
day to day activities of our
Association. Their records are
complete and up to date, and I
am happy to report that our
financial condition remains
strong and very favorable. The
men who have served as Associ-
ation Historian, Service Officer
I and Chaplain have filled their
positions well, so all in all, we
had a very capable team, doing
what was asked of them and
doing it well.
Our chapters have had most
successful meetings, with credit
being due those members who
chaired these get-togethers.
These are the people who did
the leg work so that the rest of
us could have a good time. Our
Reunion Chairmen and his
committee spent untold hours
arranging the Kansas City re-
union so that all of us could
relax and enjoy good times to-
GREETING ADS
Once again, it is time to con-
sider the upcoming Holiday
Season, and Greetings that go
out to friends and loved ones.
With greeting card costs on
the increase, and postage fees
at their highest, a greeting in
the Hellcat News becomes the
most economical and effective
way of reaching out to all your
buddies during the Holiday
Season.
Be sure to state the type of
greeting you desire, on the
order form. Otherwise, your
greeting will read "Merry
Christmas and Happy New
Year".
All requests for these ads
must be in the hands of your
Secretary on or before Novem-
ber 1st. So, the safest way to
handle this transaction is to sit
right down and make up your
form, prepare a check (Payable
to 12th Armored Division As-
sociation) and mail it to Nor-
bert H. Bruemmer, Exec. Sec'y.,
1913 Jerome Drive, Godfrey, IL
62035-1506.
Last year, a few members
called in after the November
1st deadline and had to be turn-
ed down. They stated they had
put it off, and forgot to send it
in. Therefore, keep this in
mind, and attempt to handle
this before it slips your mind.
And may the Holiday Sea-
son be one of job and happi-
ness for all the members and
their loved ones.
Norb Bruemmer,
Exec. Sec'y.

In my published monthly
column I covered the various
Association activities and bus-
iness, which I'll not repeat
here, other than to say we
attended four chapter meetings.
We would have liked to attend
the others but this was not
possible, so we did send a letter
of greeting and wished them
very successful meetings.
In closing, I would ask you
not to be content looking back,
but challenge you to look for-
ward to many years of having
a very strong and vigorous
Association, one in which we
can all say with pride, IT'S
GREAT TO BE A HELLCAT!
