HELLCAT NEWS
September 1988
have a lot to report of who from
Service-Company was with us
in KC and until then, Always
Remember "IT'S GREAT TO
BE A HELLCAT."
A COMPANY
I've thot and thot and thot
some more about this very easy
chore - of getting lines that are
fit to print - from all those guys
that are left from it. The far
west coast had Howard Vance
and Goodwin hailed from Aca-
dia, France - Maine, that is!!
Our Company knew nary a
blighter, we stayed the course
until it was lighter. Relief is
just a smile away, please step
round lightly and join the fray.
Just contact these guys who
were so great and joy will come
with their words every month,
never late. Report on the who,
the what, and the when 'cause
they'll fill you in - time and
again. Believe me, men, I do
need help, not just a kick for
this onery (onerous) whelp.
Pete and Frances Holman
doing just great by last report
- still working about three hours
an evening - keeps him out of
the house!! Zucker and Mollie
doing just fine, fighting calo-
ries like all the rest of us.
George and Clara Branson
have the Battalion Reunion
Dinner all set for the 714th
attendees. I am sure that the
next month issue will have the
roto-photo spred.
I am on my way to the V A
Hospital in Iowa City (7-26-88)
- head keeps slipping cogs with
bone chips or something. It has
been 30 years since I've had X-
rays of the three skull fractures
sustained at Herrlisheim. Other
complications have derived
from them, partial paralyza-
tion, clogged sinuses, and deaf-
ness - total in right ear, spas-
modic recurrence of total deaf-
ness in left ear. Maybe all I

need is a new set of brains!!!
So listen my Comrades and
you shall read of the largest
Reunion, Military that is, held
west of the Mississippi and
south of the Missouri. Tongues
will wag and ears will burn as
the turkey fries will be cooked
to the right turn for our Friday
hors-dors. Velly sorry you miss-
ed it.
Please find a volunteer scribe
for those gallant men of A/714.
Glad to have made your
acquaintance - glad you got to
meet me!!!
Also, Rube Lasee and Donald
Parkin have paid their dues for
1989.

B COMPANY
By golly, lots of news from
this outfit and it's great! First
off, a very nice letter from Tom
Hand as follows: 'This is my
1st message to you and hope-
fully not the last. I promised
our Secretary that I would con-
tact you when I sent in my
membership to him. My sym-
pathy is out to you and the
other 'rep's' who depend on
guys like me for some news,
but lets try to change that. I
was overjoyed a couple weeks
ago with a phone call from Dick
Thomas of B/714th, I had not
heard his voice since Camp
Barkeley, Texas and you can
imagine the joy and surprise I
felt. Since then we've had a cou-
