ee 1ndians, 4'c.
Be it resolved by the General Council of the Provisiaotal
aGovernmert of Texas, That Sam Houston, John Forbel,.
and Johh Cameroii, be and they are hereby appointed,
Commissioners to treat with the Cherokee Indians, anrL
'their twelve Associate Bands, under such instructions t
may be given'them by'the Governer and Council, and
shoulldit- so, happen that all the Commissioners cannot
attend, any two of them shall have power to conclude a
treaty and report the same tb'the General Council of the
Provisional Government, for its approval and ratification;.
Be it further resolved, 4c., That said Commissionerbe
required to hold said treaty so soon as practicable.
