STAYING IN ROUND TOP
Within driving range of the skyscrapers of Houston, Dallas and
San Antonio lies Round Top, Texas, home to Henkel Square, a
nationally recognized authentic restoration of Anglo-American
and German-American 19th Century culture. Browsing
through the double-log house, the Haw Creek Schoolhouse
Church or the ancient log store, visitors experience a magnificent
assemblage of furniture, stoneware and tools that comprise
one of the finest collections of the decorative arts of this period.
This seat of Texas culture offers one of the best representations
of the way of life of the early settlers of Texas.
