of any student. The students council does not supplant, but re-enforces
the discipline of the Faculty. This furnishes one of the best
exercises for our young people.
SOME REGULATIONS.
We shall not give here a long list of rules and regulations. A few
are essential, however. We give them below, and they shall be kindly
but firmly maintained:
1. Boarding students will not be permitted to spend a night away
from their regular boarding places without a written permit, signed
by their parents or guardian, relieving the College from all responsibility
respecting their conduct during such absence.
2. Students may not board at any place, without the approval
of the Faculty. We cannot be responsible for students who are kept
in homes which will not co-operate with us in the enforcement of our
rules and regulations.
3. Students must not leave the campus during school hours without
permission from a member of the faculty.
4. Halls and stairways must be quiet and free from disturbances
at all times. After 7 p. m. the students' home will be kept quiet, so
as to afford full opportunity for study. After 7 p. m. there must be
no visiting from room to room. The time from 7 p. m. to 10:30 p. m.
is meant for study, and students must not waste theirs and others
time in idleness or frivolity.
5. Students will be permitted to go to town only on Monday.
6. The furniture and building must be properly cared for. Nails,
tacks or pins must not be driven in walls or woodwork. All damage
must be paid for.
7. Meals, served out of the dining room will be ten cents extra.
8. Visitors, except parents, will pay board at the usual rates.
Students must not invite company at any time without permission.
9. There must be no visiting from room to room from 9 o'clock
a. m. to 4:40 p. m.
10. Cigarettes, whiskey, cards, profanity, vulgarity and other
such vices will not be tolerated on the campus any where at Any time.
If you have such habits and are not willing to leave them off do not
come to Abilene Christian College. You will do no good for yourself
and you will injure others. We are willing to help you if you will
help yourself. Otherwise you will be promptly dismissed.
11. The rules adopted by the student body and approved by the
faculty during the 1914-'15 session will apply this year until such
changes as may be deemed proper are made.
NOT A REFORMATORY.
We are glad to do anything in our power to assist boys and girls
who desire to be something and to accomplish something. If you
have wasted your time and formed bad habits, if you are determined12
