Rewards
SCHOLARSHIP
The College will give a scholarship, in the next course higher,
for the next session, to the honor student of the school; that is to the
student who makes the highest average grade, during the entire
year, all work and department included. Students of the Academy and
College will be permitted to enter this contest.
The honor went last session to Walter W. Sikes, with Claud Elliott
as a very close second.
EDITORSHIP OF THE OPTIMIST
The editorship of the Optimist-our College Paper-goes to the
student of the Senior Academy class or either College class, doing
the best work in English during the entire year.
This reward went last session to Roy Coons, who will be Editor
of the Optimist next session.
T. C. CAMPBELL LOVING CUP
Mr. Campbell, the dry goods man, who is always our friend, gives
a handsome silver Loving Cup to the society that wins in the debating
contest in a series of debates during the entire year. The Hardings
won the cup last session.
FIRST STATE BANK AND TRUST CO. GOLD MEDAL
These friends of our College give a pretty gold medal to the
young lady who wins for her society in a reading contest. Last
session Miss Carrie Sessions won the medal for the Zellners.
MINTER DRY GOODS CO. GOLD MEDAL
Among other substantial ways, these good friends, show their
appreciation of our College by giving a handsome gold medal to the
young lady who wins for her society in an Essay Contest. Miss
Bellah Philpott won this honor for the Zellners last session.
SCHORSCH-CHRISTIAN GOLD MEDAL.
These enterprising jewelry merchants, give as one evidence of
their friendship for us, a beautiful gold medal to the young man, who
wins for his society in an oratorical contest between the two societies.
Last session Reggie Bolley won this medal for the Hardings.
