GEOGRAPHY
133. Regional Geography. A study of the production, consumption,
and importance in world trade of the principal resources
of the major geographic regions of the world. A course
in regional human geography. Summer quarter.
203. Teaching of Geography in the Grades. The nature
and scope of geography, the subject matter to be selected, and
the best methods of presentation for the different grades. (Same
as Education 203.) Open to Freshmen by special permission.
Senior Courses:
355. Geography of the South. A study of the natural
regions of the South with special emphasis upon the influence of
geographic factors upon human activities in the south. Texas
will be studied intensively.
382-A, B, C. Geographic problems. Special research upon
some problems of geographic interest conducted along seminar
lines. Those majoring in geography are required to take this
work. Special effort is made to survey the field of geography
as to authors, books, articles, etc. Offered every quarter.
363. Geography of Europe. A study of the development
of the nations of Europe, emphasizing the influence of topography,
climate, coast lines, natural resources, and other factors,
geographic or non-geographic. The geographic influence of
the World War will be emphasized. The commercial and industrial
development is compared with that of the United States.
HISTORY
Students who plan to major in history should take history
245, 255, and 265. This is foundation work and is essential as a
basis of all other courses. It is well to note, too, that many of20
