Touch Typewriting. The principles of Gregg Shorthand, taking
of dictation, word-signs, transcribing, and reading of engraved
plates; touch mastery of the typewriter keyboard, copying, letter-writing
and mimeographing. Fall term.
302.-Shorthand and Typewriting. Continuation of 301.
Acquisition of speed with accuracy. Speed drills in both shorthand
and typewriting. More difficult reading in shorthand.
Winter term.
303.-Shorthand and Typewriting. Continuation of 302.
Advanced Dictation and Business English. Advanced copying and
transcribing. Special uses of typewriter. Spring term.
301.-Elementary Accounting. Fundamentals of doubleentry
bookkeeping, with applications to business affairs. Journalizing,
theory of debit and credit, expense and income, and financial
statements. Fall term.
302.-Accounting. Continuation of 301. Winter term.
303.-Accounting. Continuation of 302. Spring term.
Other courses will be added and given as there is demand.
CLASSICAL LANGUAGES
Preacher students should by all means take Greek to fulfill
their language requirements. It is urged as first minor.
Latin is recommended for Pre-Law students and is very
helpful to Pre-Medical students.
With Latin as a major, English, French, Greek or Spanish
is recommended as first minor, and History as second minor.
GREEK
The majority of the students who study Greek do so with the
distinct purpose of using the Greek New Testament. It has been
thought best, therefore, to omit the courses that deal with Classical
Attic prose and poetry and to introduce students immediately
to the Greek New Testament. Students who plan to preach and
all others who expect to engage in distinctly religious work are
urged to take at least 21 hours of Greek.
