under the direction of the student's major professor.
Seventh.-At least three months before his graduation every
candidate must present to the Dean a signed statement from the
head of the English Department, to the effect that his English is
satisfactory.
Eighth.-Degrees will be formally conferred at the June
commencement and at the close of the Summer quarter in August.
SENIOR PRIVILEGES
Students must apply for Senior privileges.
Any student who has been in residence at least one quarter
and has credit for at least 144 hours of college work shall be
entitled to senior privileges, provided he made a B average on the
work of the last quarter and provided further, that he has proven
by his good conduct and excellent spirit of cooperation he is
worthy of this trust and confidence. This matter shall be decidede
by a vote of the faculty.
These privileges shall be the following: 1. Permission to
go to town any time during the day that does not conflict with
his work, and to be out until 10:30 on Tuesday, Thursday and
Friday nights. 2. To have social privileges any evening after
dinner until 7:30 o'clock and on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday
evenings until 10:30. 3. Exemption from final examinations
of the last quarter, upon an average grade of B on work then
in progress. 4. Exemption from all written tests of the last
two weeks and from class attendance during the first two days
of senior week which is the week preceding Senior Sunday. 5
If the class wishes, it may have an outing or picnic on the two
days mentioned in No. 4, provided it is strictly a class affair.
6. To purchase and to wear certain class regalia such as sweaters,
rings, pins, caps, gowns, etc. 7. To have charge of and
to conduct all chapel exercises during the week before Senior
Sunday which shall hereafter be the Sunday before Commencement
Sunday. The class may have charge of all church services
of the College on Senior Sunday.
It is hereby understood that the privileges enumerated above
extend only to seniors, and that if a senior wishes to invite an
under-classman to share in any senior privilege, said under-classman
must first secure permission from the Dean, or some one
designated by him, before such privilege may be exercised.43
