The Summer Quarter
For the past six years we have maintained a summer term.
This is the same as a full quarter of the session, and the work
done is a regular term's work. The same high standard is maintained,
and we strive to give the same splendid service that we
seek in the other three terms.
PURPOSE
The purpose of this summer school is to offer opportunities
of Christian education to young men and young ladies who teach
during the long session. There is still another reason for the
summer school. We are coming to realize more and more that it is
a waste of time to spend the summer months in idleness-"taking
a vacation." The summer quarter is maintained to meet the
demand which has arisen out of the desire on the part of diligent
students to continue their credit work during the summer months.
WHAT ABOUT THIS SUMMER?
Will you take advantage of a summer course or trust past
successes? Will you make preparations for a better work, or
continue as you are? Will you decide today, or wait until tomorrow?
Will you advance, or "rust out?" W Yill you be a leader,
or follow?
LOCATION
Abilene is a most excellent place in which to do summer
work. It is a very clean, live, progressive, educational city of
twenty-five thousand people. The altitude is such that a student is
free from the depressing, devitalizing sensation so prevalent
in the lower altitudes. The weather is never excessively hot.
The nights are cool. Students will find the summer's work here
a recreation.
EQUIPMENT
The entire plant of the college will be at the disposal of the
summer students. The administration building with its commodious
auditorium, its well ventilated and equipped class rooms,
its laboratories for Physical and Biological Sciences; its new
and well chosen library of eight thousand volumes, its reading
rooms and offices, will be open to all students. The girls will
make their home in Zellner and Daisy Halls, the boys in McDonald
Hall. Meals will be served in the Dining Hall for all students.
