SELECTING A COURSE OF STUDY.
In selecting a course of study, the student must first choose
those subjects in which he is in arrears. The student should
choose his course next from the list of courses under the head
of "Requirements for Graduation." Those required courses are
designed to afford a basis of general culture which everyone
should have before specialization is begun, and it is, therefore,
urged that much of this work be done in the freshman and
sophomore years.
The student will be required to choose his major subject by
the beginning of the junior year.
If a student is deficient in English he will do well to place this
subject on his schedule for extra work. The Dean reserves the
right, upon the recommendation of any instructor, to prescribe
additional work in English to any student.
The Dean will act as an advisor to all freshmen and sophomore
students, but after the choice of his major is made each
student will take the instructor in charge of his major subject as
his advisor. No work should be taken without consulting his
advisor.
