lege who can qualify. The permanent selections are made after
six weeks trial. The work is required of voice students. A tour
will be made during the year. One rehearsal each week.
Choral Club
The Choral Club is opened to young women who qualify in
the manner described above. All voice students are required to
join the club. One rehearsal each week.
SIGHT SINGING.
1. The Staff, Notes, Measures, Divisions, Rythmn, the Major
Scales, Diatonic Intervals, Major Triad, Minor Scales, Diatonic
Intervals, Minor Triads, Chromatic Tones, Ties, Slurs, Syncopation,
Triplets.
2. Major Scales, Minor Scales, Modulation, Dominant Key,
Subdominant Key, Relative Minor and Major Keys, Alternating
Tones, Distance Modulation, Two and Three Part Singing. Division
and Reading.
All pupils in Voice Department desiring to secure diplomas
will be required to take course in Sight Singing.
A class in sight singing meets once a week for the benefit of
vocal students and others who desire the course.
CERTIFICATES.
Students who receive certificates in Voice must satisfy the
college entrance requirements, complete one year and satisfy the
demands of this department.
PIANO.
MISS PAT MALONE.
COURSE OF STUDY.
The Course of Study is divided into Primary, Intermediate,
and Certificate. The object of the four year course in piano
study is to give the student a complete knowledge of piano literature
composed by the greatest masters of the Classical, Romantic,
and Modern epochs of pianism.
The two principles of piano playing are presented from a
psychological as well as a musical point of view. The method
of imparting the technical principles of piano playing is drawn
from a careful study of the methods used by such teachers of
technique as Leschetizky, Mason, Virgil, and the principles of
