GENERAL INFORMATION
Maynet Thomas Baley loan fund with a gift of $500, honoring her
daughter, Mrs. Clarence E. Baley, who is Associate Professor of English
and Foreign Language in Abilene Christian College.
PLACEMENT SERVICE
The College operates a placement service for students for the
purpose of assisting them to secure employment. Assistance is given
students in securing teaching positions, commercial or industrial positions,
positions for summer work, and part-time employment while
in school. The placement office seeks to place the registrants in positions
for which they are qualified. To this end, credentials for the
registrants are kept on file in the office and made available to prospective
employers, and an attempt is made to bring the applicant who
is qualified for a particular position into contact with the employer
who needs his services.
DIVISIONS OF THE COLLEGE
The work of Abilene Christian College is divided into four parts
as follows:
1. The College of Arts and Sciences, which offers courses in
twelve different departments, and which confers, upon the successful
completion of a four-year course, the Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor
of Science degrees.
2. Division of Extension.
3. Department of Fine Arts, containing Art, Piano, Voice,
Speech, and Violin.
4. The Demonstration School, including Elementary School,
which covers the work of the elementary grades; and the Junior and
Senior High Schools, which are standard and fully accredited.
The Demonstration School is maintained as the laboratory of the
Department of Education in the College of Arts and Sciences, serving
as a training school for practice teaching.
