353.-New Testament. Two of the minor epistles carefully
studied. Matthew read as parallel. Texts: Same as Greek 343.
363.-New Testament. The book of Hebrews is read carefully.
Luke read as parallel. The Expositor's Greek Testament
and the Cambridge text used, in addition to Burton's Moods and
Tenses.
LATIN.
115.-Beginner's Latin. Careful study of word forms, intensive
drills in declensions and conjugations, reading of easy
sentences, English to Latin and Latin to English.
125.-The fundamentals of syntax are studied and selections
from Caesar, Cicero, and Virgil are read.
135.-Caesar. Reading of the Gallic Wars, applied syntax,
informal study of the Roman History of that time, Composition
work.
215.-Cicero's Orations. Translation supplemented by a
study of the political conditions of that time. Latin Composition
continued.
225.-Virgil's Aeneid. Books II-IV or an equivalent number
of books. In this course the prosody of dactylic hexameter, the
poet's language and style, and classical mythology will be studied.

235.-Livy. Book I and selections from Books XXI and
XXII, or from Pliny's Letters. A study of Roman life in the
early empire.
313.-Latin Prose Composition. All students who elect Latin
225 and 235 are strongly urged to take this course.
322.-Roman Life. A study of the public and private life
of the Romans and of their institutions and customs. This course
is open to students regardless of their knowledge of Latin. It
is valuable to students of history.
325.-Horace's Odes and Epodes. Study of versification and
prosody of lyric poems.
335.-Cicero's Selected Letters or Essays. The Letters are
to be read mainly for their value in showing the political conditions
and the relationship to the closing years of the Republic.
