345.-Virgil. Study in Books VI-XII or the Georgics. Prerequisite
courses 225 and 235.
HEBREW.
313.-The class begins with Harper's Method and Manual.
References from it require Harper's Elements of Hebrew. A
small lexicon may be used to assist in locating some forms, but
all students must sooner or later use the standard lexicon by
Brown, Driver, and Briggs. Exercises in rendering English into
Hebrew are required throughout the term and the year. Details
of the language and the vocabulary are emphasized. The first
term of Hebrew covers one hundred pages in the Method and
Manual, or the first two chapters of Genesis. The Inductive
method is followed. Kittell's text of the Hebrew Bible is used.
323.-This term continues the work of Hebrew 313. The
Method and Manual is finished. The student covers chapters
three to eight of Genesis in this term. The details are mastered.
333.-Reading of Genesis 10 to 24. Vocabulary is perfected.
Forms are reviewed. Grammar work continues. Lexicon is used
in some special studies from the text. The art of writing a
thorough exegesis is touched.
343.-A thorough review of vocabulary and grammar. Readings
are from some of the historical books. Translations from
English into Hebrew. To graduate from this quarter one must
have read the whole of Genesis.
353.-Hebrew Syntax is taken up from Harper's Syntax. The
reading is from some of the prophets. Two papers of exegesis
a month are required.
363.-This term is on advanced grammar and further exegetical
work. Some discussion will be had on textual problems.
The work will be based on reading in the Psalms selected for
study. To graduate from this advanced course a hundred pages
parallel readings will be the requirement.

FRENCH.
115.-Beginners' Course. Reading, Conversation, grammar.
Correct pronounciation is insisted upon from the first. Vocabulary,
