GENERAL INFORMATION
College of Arts and Sciences
CONDITIONS OF ADMISSION
The work of each semester is, as far as possible, complete
within itself. A student may, therefore, enter at the beginning of
any semester and do the full amount of work for the semester.
Character and Pledge.-To be admitted, the applicant must be
at least sixteen years of age and be of good moral character. He
must pledge himself not to encourage or participate in hazing or
class rushes during his college course. He must have a transcript
of his credits, properly signed, from the last school attended,
high school or college, including a statement of honorable dismissal.
This should be mailed to the Registrar, Abilene Christian
College, Abilene, Texas, at least two weeks before coming. Old
students must present their record books to re-register. Duplicates
cannot be made during registration, nor can the permanent
records be consulted.
Vaccination.-Each student who has not been successfully
vaccinated, will be vaccinated for smallpox (fee 50c). Exemption
from vaccination will be granted upon written request by a parent
of the student.
Scholastic Requirements for Entrance.-All applicants for admission
to the College of Arts and Sciences must satisfy the following
conditions:
For admission without condition applicants under twenty-one
years of age must have been graduated from an accredited high
school with fifteen (15) units, including the following prescribed
units: English 3; social science 2, at least one of which must
have been in history; mathematics 2; electives 8. The eight electives
may be chosen from the list approved by the State Department
of Education for accredited high schools. Not more than

together, and no more than three in vocational subjects. Biology
may not be presented by a student who presents either botany or
zoology. If the applicant's units fail to include one or more of the
prescribed subjects, he may be admitted, and allowed to make up
the missing subjects either by examination or by college subjects
counted back. In no case will an entrance examination be permitted
in a subject after the subject has been taken in college.
