OLD TESTAMENT INTERPRETATION
OLD TESTAMENT (English)
Comprehensive study of the entire Old Testament. The events will
be considered in their chronological order and in connection with secular
history showing the gradual unfolding of God's revelation with
special emphasis upon His great redemptive work. Schools of criticism
will be discussed and questions as to the origin and composition of the
books will be touched on. From the archeological and historical data
we shall learn much of the political, social, and religious environments.
Synopses of all the books must be mastered. The various
periods of Old Testament history will be traced in order, and the prophecies
preparing for the Messiah and pointing to His coming will
be especially pointed out. The course closes with a study of postexilic
history and the last of the minor prophets.
