INDT 582 Industrial Management (2-2-3), spring. Man and his
changing environment as it relates to technology. Research in
experimentation with industrial materials, processes, management,
and techniques. Course fee: $35. Prerequisite: Six hours of Industrial

ISQS 522 Advanced Statistics (3-0-3). A study of advanced
statistical concepts including experimental designs, analysis of
variance, regression (linear and nonlinear), correction analysis,
business fluctuations, forecasting and Bayesian statistics. Fee: $155.
Prerequisite: MATH 130, 131, and ISQS 322.
ISQS 600 Guided Study. A faculty member must agree to direct
the study before a student may enroll.
ISQS 628 Operations Research (3-0-3). Quantitative methods
appropriate to problem-solving and decision making in business.
Includes programming (linear, dynamic and non linear), queuing
theory, Markov chains, simulation, PERT, game theory and decision
theory. Prerequisite: MATH 130, 131, ISQS 322 or equivalent.

JMC 517 History of Mass Media (3-0-3). Survey of the history of
print and electronic media, with special emphasis on prominent
individuals and events and religious periodicals. The media are
related to their political, economic and social contexts in America.
JMC 540 Theory of Mass Communication (3-0-3). An
investigation of the current theories and principles of mass media
and ways to use them for maximum effectiveness.
JMC 549 Opinion Writing (3-0-3). A theoretical and practical
study of the editorial and column in the news media. Emphasis on
thinking and writing about current problems. Prerequisites: JMC
223, 224, 341, 440 or 540.
JMC 550 Feature Writing (3-0-3). A study of newspaper and
magazine feature articles. Emphasis on identifying subjects, research,
interviewing and writing. Prerequisites: JMC 223, 224.
JMC 551 Magazine Production (3-0-3). Develops skills in
producing magazines, including practical application of the principles
of typography, layout, and production. Course fee: $25.
Prerequisites: JMC 341, 342, or ART 353 or 475.
JMC 560 Advanced Television Production (3-0-3). Advanced
study of television production including videography, editing,
lighting and directing. A study of the role of the producer. Analysis
of award-winning television productions. Prerequisites: JMC 260.

purposes, production and administration of religious broadcasting.

responsibility of print and broadcast media ethically and legally. First
Amendment principles and legal philosophy affecting the media and
