392.-Oratory.
The style of persuasive speech with practice in the writing and
delivery of addresses. Prerequisite: Public Speaking 391. (Winter)Not more than nine hours of credit for freshman courses in Public
Speaking is allowed toward Bachelor of Arts degree.
DEPARTMENT OF FOREIGN LANGUAGES
All college students should begin their foreign language courses
at the earliest possible opportunity and complete their language requirements
before their senior year.
Those who present two units of high school foreign language
should elect the course numbered 321; those offering three units should
take 322 or 323.
Premedical students should take German or French or both; Spanish
will not satisfy language entrance requirements in standard medical
colleges. Those planning graduate work, especially for the Ph. D.
degree, should take both German and French in their undergraduate
course.
Courses in German and French are alternated so as to provide two
years each for those wishing them. Courses in advance of 351 are
offered upon sufficient demand.
The minimum requirements in advanced courses for a major in
Spanish are 381 to 385 inclusive and 387 to 391. For minors, Latin,
French, English, or history are recommended.
