College piano students are given one hour per week of class
sight reading.
One hour of college credit will be given for one lesson per
week, with one hour daily practice. Two hours credit may be had
for two lessons per week, with two hours daily practice, or three
hours credit in the case of music majors, for two lessons per week,
with three hours daily practice.
The numbers of Music 221-222, and 223-224 should be changed
to 121-122, and 123-124 in following places: Major requirements
for piano, voice, violin, major requirements for Music Education,
Tentative schedule for students making Voice a major,
sophomore year, Tentative schedule for students making Violin
a major, sophomore, Tentative schedule for students making

Private Work in Voice
Voice 101-102, or 201-202, or 301-302-First Year Voice
Scales and arpeggios in middle range. Simple exercises given
by the teacher. Breath control. Fifteen to twenty standard
songs from classic and modern composers.

Major scales in extended range in slow and rapid tempo.
Octaves, both forte and piano. Messa di voce, in the middle
range. Scales, extended arpeggio. A recitative and arias from
opera or oratorio. Fifteen to twenty standard songs from
