33G3 Advanced Problems in Audio-Visual Education in
High School.
A course having to do with the selection, evaluation and
integration of audio-visual aids with other curricular materials.
Emphasis is placed on the use of these aids as an
integral part of the instructional program. Students are
required to develop a program in a specified subject matter
area. Laboratory fee, $3.00.
34G3 Seminar in Secondary Education.
This course provides for directed reading and research in
problems of educational theory and practice. Each student
is required to carry on research in a given area and to
make reports to the class. Group discussions acquaint the
students with problems, practices, and trends in the field
of secondary education.
SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION
40G3 The Elementary School Principal.
This course deals with the duties and responsibilities of
principals in connection with the organization and administration
of the elementary school.
41G3 Evaluation of Elementary Schools.
This course is based on the "Handbook for Self Appraisal
and Improvement of Elementary Schools." Students are to
interpret and apply the findings which result from its use.
42G3 The Elementary School Curriculum.
Emphasis is placed on actual experience in the development
of the elementary curriculum in harmony with sound educational
theory and accepted psychological principles. After
much research, students will select and organize appropriate
materials for specific grade levels.
43G3 Administration of Audio-Visual Aids.
This course deals with the organization and administration
of the audio-visual program in the public schools. Problems
considered include those related to personnel, equipment
and supplies, utilization and production of materials, finances,
in-service education, and public relations.
44G3 Educational Measurement in the Improvement of
Instruction.
A course offering an extended study of selected testing
instruments. Tests of intelligence, achievement, personality,
interest, and special aptitudes are administered, scored and
interpreted. Stress is placed upon the use of these materials
in improving the teaching-learning situation.
