are built and equipped to be rented at low rates. All utilities are
paid, and the units will be rented furnished or unfurnished, as desired.
(Furniture includes a hot plate, and icebox. A few gas ranges
and electric refrigerators are for rent at $1.50 and $2.00 per month
extra).
The types, number and rates of units available are as follows:
1 three and one-half room apartment _ $40.00 per mo.
37 three room apartments -___..----- _- _.- 35.00 per mo.
40 two room apartments .-------------_..-._- 28.00 per mo.
1 one room apartment .-----------------. 20.00 per mo.
25 hutments (homettes) -------------------- 29.00 per mo.
A deposit of $5.00, which is credited on the first month's rent,
should be made at the office of the Bursar to hold a reservation for
an apartment. The hutments are in great demand, and there are
ordinarily several on the waiting list. Priority for hutments will be
given to those who live in the college apartments.
Dogs or other pets are not allowed in college owned housing.
ROOM RESERVATIONS
Room reservations are made by depositing $5.00 with the reservation
request in the Office of the Bursar (this $5.00 is credited
as a down payment on the first month's rent). First and second
preferences as to rooms should be stated.
All reservations are made strictly on a "first come-first served"
basis except that students already living in the college dormitories
are given priority over others for a specified period in April. Except
for these priorities, no one will be given any special preference over
anyone else other than on the basis of being first to make a reservation.Students who wish to room together should make their reservations
at the same time. Such requests will be granted if facilities
are available at the time of the request.
If a student is left alone in a room because the roommate moves,
the rate of rent increases to rates for one in a room. Because students
generally prefer to select their own roommates, the responsibility
for making arrangements for a new roommate is placed upon
the student. The dormitory manager will be glad to assist in securing
congenial roommates if requested.
Reservations will be held until the last day of registration, after
which they will be released unless special arrangements are made
in advance with the Office of the Bursar to hold the reservation
longer. Reservation deposits are not refunded unless cancellation is
made by August 15th.38
