Bible study must be at the heart of the curriculum. The Bible
is the one Book which shows the way to the Father and reveals
Him who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
Education apart from a clear and definite knowledge of the
Bible is defective and incomplete, for if it neglects the spiritual, it
contains no power that can form and sustain character. We believe
that the strongest single factor in the development of character is
a reverent study of the Bible. Each course is planned to promote
definite spiritual training which shall yield a desirable unity to be
manifested in refinement, reverence and devotion-to know "the
sacred writings which are able to make thee wise unto salvation
through faith which is in Christ Jesus."
Each Freshman is required to take Courses 311 and 312. These
are general survey courses, planned to guide the student into a
definite and an accurate knowledge of the contents of the entire
Bible. Courses 321 and 322 are for Sophomore students. These four
courses are prerequisite to all other courses in Bible.
The required courses for students using Bible as a major in
addition to the twelve hours named above are 371, 373 or 374, 382,
384, and Apologetics 370 or 390, and 490. Students who major in
Bible are urged to meet language requirement with the Greek of
the Koine Period. In addition, they must do:
English-12 semester hours
Science-12 semseter hours
History 321, 322 or 317, 318 or Government 325, 326
Social Science 100 (Freshman Orientation)
