Are you looking for an unusual experience?
Then attend summer school at Abilene Christian College.
The reasons are many why you will like summer school at
ACC. The campus, set on a wind-swept hill overlooking Abilene,
is beautiful in its own West-Texas way, and the summer nights are
pleasant and zestful, made for recreation or study.
The summer session is an integral part of the college year.
The regulations which govern admission and classification for the
long session apply to the summer school. A variety of college
courses will be offered each term in the various departments. Other
courses not listed in this bulletin will be offered if there is sufficient
demand for them.
The courses are concentrated. You meet classes every day for
five days each week, Tuesday through Saturday.
The classes are small, and you have the advantages of the
small discussion group plus the leadership of a good teacher. The
atmosphere is friendly and informal. But you work, and you learn.
Each day the students and the teachers meet for a daily
devotional in Sewell auditorium. God, ever-present, is not forgotten.
The regular program of religious activites by the College church
is carried on through the week. Besides the regular services of
the church on Lord's days, there are the Mission Study Class and
prayer-meeting on Wednesday evenings; and the Girl's Training
Class and the Evangelistic Forum on Friday evenings. One of the
outstanding religious activities of the week is the student devotional
held on the steps of the Administration Building each Tuesday
night at 10 p. m.
You have your choice of the best rooms in the best dormitories.
If you prefer to live in a private home, many of the residents
near the college have a room that you can rent. If you are interested
in renting an apartment write to J. E. Freeman, ACC, Abilene,
Texas.
The recreational program through the summer is of the best.
and the entire student body-not just a group here and a group
there-has good times together. Watermelon feasts, picnics, educational
pictures on the campus in the moonlight, plays and programs
in the auditorium; these and many more attractions are
yours in the recreational line.
A regular program of intramural athletics is carried on at ACC
through the summer, giving every boy and girl an opportunity
for Wholesome physical recreation. In addition to the intramural
program, the school always has a team in league softball play in
the city. Also, a number of young men and women enrolled in the
college participate as members of other teams that play in the
league.
