If you take them before reporting for orientation,
you will have more time for other matters.
(1) CHEMISTRY. Recommended if you
have had a course in high school and you plan
to take chemistry at ACC.
(2) MATHEMATHICS, LEVEL I. Required
if you plan to take (a) algebra and trigonometry
or (b) analysis I (analytics and calculus)
during your freshman year.
(3) ENGLISH COMPOSITION TEST. Take
this test if you want to attempt to earn college
credit in English and do not plan to take the
College Board Advanced Placement Test in
English. If you score 600 or more on the ECT
you will earn three semester hours of credit in
English.
(4) FRENCH, GERMAN, LATIN, and
SPANISH. If you have had two or more units
of credit in these subjects, you should be able
to earn college credit by examination (up to four
semesters or 14 semester hours of credit.) Take
both Reading Comprehension and Listening
tests in French, German, and Spanish. For
Latin, take the Reading Comprehension Test.
Students attending orientation will register
for Orientation 1100. Charges for the program
include a registration fee of $12.50, room charges
of $2 a day for women and $1.50 a day for men,
and a dormitory room key deposit of. $1.00.
Linens are not furnished. Meals may be obtained
on campus at reasonable prices. If you
complete all orientation requirements, you will
receive one semester hour of credit with no letter
grade assigned.

Advanced Placement and Credit
by Examination
If your past grades and test scores indicate
that you have outstanding academic potential,
it is possible to be exempt from or to receive a
maximum of 30 semester hours of college credit
in certain courses. Your advanced placement
and credit will be determined by:
1. The College Board Advanced Placement
Examination (CBAPE).
2. College - Level Examination Program
(CLEP) tests by College Board.
