Since the courses offered in summer school are limited to the
demand, you are advised to communicate with the director as to
your specific needs before coming to Abilene.
FEES
Registration ......$ 2.00
Special fees are charged for all laboratories and typing
courses.
Boarding students are accepted for the summer term only.
Room and board is the same as for college students.
Piano and voice lessons are available.
Pupils interested are requested to write the director for detailed
information. Address your inquiry to: Ted Pitts, Principal,
Abilene Christian High School, Abilene, Texas.
Scholarships and Loans
American Studies Scholarships-One hundred scholarships for
one of the six-week summer terms are available in American
Studies to public school teachers. The grants include tuition, fees,
room and board. Deadline for application is April 1. Requests for
application forms should be directed to Director of American
Studies Program.
Teachers and Preachers Scholarship-Full-time teachers and
preachers can meet requirements for $50 summer session scholarships.
These grants are good only for graduate study. Application
forms available from Office of the Vice-President.
Valedictorian and Salutatorian Scholarships -Available to
highest and second highest ranking high school graduates are
$100 scholarships which are prorated over four semesters or four
12-week summer sessions. Correspondence should be directed to
Office of the Vice-President and application deadline is June 1.
Government Loans-Loans under the National Defense Education
Act of 1958 are available at Abilene Christian College. Summer
students must have attended ACC during the 1962 spring
semester or plan to attend the 1962 fall semester to be eligible.
Inquiries should be directed to L. D. Hilton, Assistant Bursar. Applications
should be made by April 15.
Other Financial Aid-Some other scholarships, loans and assistantships
are available to summer students at Abilene Christian
College. Information can be acquired from the Office of the
Vice-President.
