The primary aim is to achieve mastery of the contents of the New Testament documents.
The framework of the course will be historical, using a text on New Testament history
and studying the documents in chronological sequence. (Not credited with Bible 1301
and 1302, or with Bible 1313 and 1314).
5356. The Mission and Expansion of the Church in the New Testament.
The missionary character of the first century church with special emphasis given to
the methods of Paul.
5357. The Thessalonian Epistles.
The historical context of the epistles will be emphasized, and attention given to exegetical
method.
5359. The Gospel According to John.
A study of Christ as revealed by John in the fourth Gospel.
5360. The Books of Galatians and Romans.
Emphasizing major doctrinal aspects of Christianity, particularly the principle ofJustification
by Faith.
5361. The Corinthian Letters.
A study of I and II Corinthians, observing the workings of Christianity in a pagan
center such as Corinth.
5363. The Pastoral Epistles.
A detailed study of I and II Timothy, and Titus.
5364. The Book of Hebrews.
An intensive study of Hebrews, with emphasis on its practical exhortations.

James, Peter, John, and Jude.
5366. The Book of Revelation.
Includes a study of fortunes of the church as set forth in the Revelation. Emphasis
is given to the continual struggle between righteousness and evil, with the final victory
of the Christ and His church.

The relation of archeological findings, and the value of their testimony, to the integrity
of the Bible.
6320. Advanced Introduction to the New Testament.
Special introduction to the books of the New Testament with special attention to critical
problems.
6321. Religious Teaching of the New Testament.
Major doctrines of the New Testament presented systematically.
6322. Text and Canon of the New Testament.
Textual evidence for the New Testament; the principles and methods of textual criticism
of the New Testament; the New Testament canon. Prerequisite: knowledge of Greek.
6323. Exegetical Seminar in the Gospels.**
Designed to develop sound exegetical method. Introduction to the Synoptic Gospels
and their special problems and to current trends in the study of these writings. Recommended
prerequisite: Bible 6326.*Knowledge of Hebrew required.
