a. Minor: Foreign language, history, music, art, speech, journalism,
or Bible.
b. Freshman English prerequisite to all other English and must
be done during the freshman year.
c. Sophomore English 321, 322, prerequisite to all literature courses
for English majors.
d. Twenty-four hours of advanced English, including English 361,
370, and 382. Three hours must be elected from courses in each

6. Mathematics
a. Minor: Physics, chemistry, education, biology, business administration,
or industrial arts.
b. Six hours of physics.
c. Mathematics 311, 312, 313, or 411, 412; or 517, 518; and eighteen
hours of advanced courses.
d. French or German should be used in meeting the language requirement.7. Modern Language (Spanish, French, or German)
a. Minor: English, history, another foreign language, music, or

b. Eighteen hours of advanced Spanish, French, or German, including
385 and 386.
8. Applied Music (Voice or Major Instrument)
a. Minor: Art, Bible, English, education, home economics, industrial

six to eight hours of which must be advanced, and four
semesters of a minor concentration.
