ABILENE CHRISTIAN COLLEGE GRADUATE SCHOOL
of three additional hours may be taken when approved by the Graduate
Council. During a summer term of six weeks a student may enroll
for not more than six hours.*
Students employed full-time in Abilene Christian College or elsewhere
should not enroll for more than nine hours during any long
session (nine months) and three hours during a six-weeks summer
term. Teachers employed full-time must have the approval of their
superintendent and the Dean of the Graduate School to take as many
as six hours during any one semester (not more than nine in nine
months). The teaching load and the course load of a graduate assistant
are not normally to exceed 15 semester hours.
9. Time Limit for Completion of a Graduate Program:
After a student has been admitted to graduate study, he must
complete all work for the degree within six calendar years. If he fails
to do so, he must do whatever additional work the Graduate Council
prescribes. This regulation applies to work being transferred from
another institution as well as to work done in Abilene Christian
College.
10. Grading System:
a. Grades of A, B, C, D, E, I, F, WP, and WF are recorded for
graduate courses.
b. The grade average required for graduation is 3.0 (B), computed
on all work taken for graduate credit. No grade below "B" in
courses open to undergraduate students will count toward the degree;
no grade below "C" will count in courses restricted to graduate students.c. No grade may be raised except by repeating the course involved,
in which case both grades will count on the student's grade
average.
d. The following table of values is observed in grading:
A ... 4 grade points per semester hour.
B ... 3 grade points per semester hour.
C ... 2 grade points per semester hour.
D . . . 1 grade point per semester hour.
E or I ... 0 grade points per semester hour.
F ... -1 grade point per semester hour.
WP ... 0 grade points per semester hour.
WF ... --1 grade point per semester hour.
* A combination of graduate and undergraduate hours must be approved by the Dean of
the Graduate School, and may not total more than fifteen hours for a semester or six hours
for a summer term.21
