Departmental Requirements for Marketing Majors
Marketing continues to be a major challenge in the
world of business. Thus, the viewpoint of all the marketing
courses in the college is focused on the management
of the total marketing process irrespective of industry,
product, or type of company or organization. Examples
are drawn from a variety of areas to illustrate the
application of the material.
The student majoring in marketing is prepared for a
wide range of careers in the field of marketing for both
the business firm and the nonprofit organization. These
fields include marketing research, merchandising,
promotion, public relations, sales force administration,
physical distribution, sales and market analysis, and
purchasing at any level in the channel of distribution.
Concentrating in a marketing major also provides the
necessary educational background for subsequent careers
in advertising, management, and research with advertising
agencies.

and industrial marketing firms.
