2. Plane Trigonometry. The subject is made practical, problems
being solved at first by graphical methods, by accurate platting
and measuring, and afterwards computed by means of trigonometrical
formulae and mathematical tables. The trigonometric functions are
given vigorous treatment, and emphasis is placed on the development

3. Plane Surveying. The work consists of recitations and solution
of problems, practical and theoretical. The subjects studied
are field problems employing chaining, method of keeping notes.
