Student Affairs Baptist Student Union. The Baptist Student Union is the coordinating
agency of all religious activities of the University. The director of
religious activities provides full-time guidance to the Baptist Student
Union program.
The perennial goal of the Howard Payne B.S.U. is to challenge
every student to accept Christ as Savior and to apply Christ's principles
in every area of life. All students, regardless of denominational affiliation,
are urged to become actively associated with the church of their
choice in Brownwood.
BSU ORGANIZATIONS ARE:
* Jackets for Jesus, composed of varsity athletes, provides Christian
fellowship and avenues of service through extension trips to area
churches.
* La Hora Bautista is composed of Spanish-speaking students who
wish to further the cause of Christ.
* Life Service Band provides Christian growth and service for students
of all vocational fields through a local mission, extension trips,
and enlightening programs.
* Ministerial Alliance provides information, inspiration, and serVice
for men on the campus preparing for the gospel ministry.
* The Philokian Club serves to acquaint the wives of ministers with
their privileges and responsibilities.
* Christian Young Women is an organization for mission study and
activity by college young women who are not married.
Beta Beta Beta. The purpose of Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor
Society shall be to function as an honor and professional society of the
biological sciences.
Blue Key is a national leadership organization for junior and senior
men who have shown academic excellence and outstanding leadership
while in college.
Cap and Gown is the senior women's honor society. It is dedicated
to the principles of scholarship, leadership and service. The membership
is limited to ten, and those selected must have a 3.00 grade point
average and be recognized leaders on the campus.
Christian Brothers of Unity. This group organized to bring together
the students of Howard Payne University as a united body for the benefit
of the members and the campus and to promote educative and social
activities to serve the campus with good-will.
Circle K. An International Organization under the sponsorship of
the local Kiwanis Club. The purpose of this organization is to organize
a group of college men of high standards within the bonds of a Chris34
tian-oriented service social fraternity.
