SESSION OF 1916-'17
school must be promptly, regularly and systematically complied with
by all students. As to the conduct of the students in all of their relations
and activities our one law shall be, "Do RIGHT.'
A faculty committee composed of Dean Speck, Mr. Williams, Mr.
Morlan,Mrs.Sewell and Miss Wagstaff will have charge of the discipline
during the 1916-'17 session, and we ask that it be understood by old
students as well as new ones that the regulations will be kindly but
firmly and constantly enforced.
SOME REGULATIONS.
We shall not give here a long list of rules and regulations. A few
are essential, however. We give them below, and they shall be kindly
but firmly maintained:
1. Boarding students will not be permitted to spend a night away
from their regular boarding places without a written permit, signed
by their parents or guardian, relieving the College from all responsibility
respecting their conduct during such absence.
2. Students may not board at any place without the approval
of the Faculty. We cannot be responsible for students who are kept
in homes which will not co-operate with us in the enforcement of our
rules and regulations. We reserve the right to move any student at
any time.
3. Students must not leave the campus during school hours without
permission from a member of the faculty.
4. Halls and stairways must be quiet and free from disturbances
at all times. After 7 p. m. the students' home will be kept quiet, so
as to afford full opportunity for study. After 7 p. m. there must be
no visiting from room to room. The time from 7 p. m. to 10:30 p. m.
is meant for study, and students must not waste theirs and others
time in idleness or frivolity.
5. Students will be permitted to go to town on Saturday from
4 to 6 p. m. and on Monday.
6. The furniture and building must be properly cared for. Nails,
tacks or pins must not be driven in walls or woodwork. All damage
must be paid for.
7. Meals served out of the dining room will be ten cents extra.
8. Visitors, except parents, will pay board at the usual rates.
Students must not invite company at any time without permission
9. There must be no visiting from room to room from 9 o'clock
a. m. to 4:40 p. m.13
