Davenport was the first physician and John IHolman was the
first inr. keeper. Alex Douglas reached Tyler .In 1848, ran
the first livery stable, and also dealt in real estate.
George A.ians, a native Scotchman, opened the first blacksmilth
shop in Tyler in 184L and later became one of the
