CENTRAL TEXAS CONFERENCE JOURNAL.
Minutes of morning session read and approved.
J. F. Luker read report of Committee on Sabbath Observance and it was
approved.
Dr. Ed. Thomson, Secretary of the Sabbath League, and R. C. Armstrong
spoke to the report.
Report No. 2 on Books and Periodicals was read by Atticus Webb and
adopted.
Dr. Rankin addressed the Conference.
Bishop Atkins took the chair.
Report on Bible Cause was read by C. G. Shutt, and after an address by
Rev. R. C. George, it was adopted.
On motion of S. R. Hay it was determined to hold a session of the Con
ference at 7:30 p. m. Sunday.
On motion of E. A. Smith, A. B. C. Debnam was located for ineficiency
and unacceptability.
Report of Trustees of Superannuate Homes was read by W. B. Andrews
and adopted.
Jno. M. Barcus raised a subscription for this work of $780.
Mrs. W. H. Johnson of the Dallas Home was introduced and addressed the
Conference.
H. D. Knickerbocker spoke on the same work.
On motion of Horace Bishop the Secretary was instructed to make appor.
tionment to the several boards of the amount to be paid by them to the
work of the Tract Society.
Reports on District Conference Records and Temperance were read and
adopted.
H. A. Boaz read resolutions requesting the College of Bishops to return
Bishop Atkins to Texas next year and they were adopted.
Question 47.-Who is elected Lay Leader for the Conference?
W. E. Williams of Fort Worth.
Question 48.-Where sball the next session of the Conference be held?
Polytechnic Church.
Resolutions expressing appreciation of the efficient work done by Major
S. M. Lesesane In reporting the proceedings of the Conference for the
Dallas and Galveston News, were read by M. S. Hotchkiss and adopted.
Bishop Atkins read the names of those nominated for the Commissioners
of Education and they were elected as follows:
Clerical-H. Bishop, Jno. A. Rice.
Lay-Geo. T. Jester, J. K. Parr.
On motion of James Campbell it was ordered that when we adjourn it
be to meet at 9:30 this evening.
A motion prevailed to adjourn after the reading of the minutes.
The minutes were read and approved. The Doxology was sung and the
Conference adjourned with the benediction by Professor Cunninggim.
EVENING SESSION.
Conference convened pursuant to adjournment at 9:30 p. m.
Bishop Atkins was in the chair, and led the Conference in prayer.
Jerome Duncan read report of the Board of Education and it was adopted.
S. J. Rucker read report of Treasurer of Board of Education and it was
adopted.22
