several patriotic addresses, a barbecue supper with soft drinks was
served. The attendance was estimated as from 3,000 to 6,000. Every-
thing was orderly and the crowd dispersed about midnight.
In August, 1923, the McKinney Knights of the Ku Klux Klan com-
pleted a new klavern, or building, 60 by Ioo feet, located between East
Virginia and Hunt Streets.19
