on the right bank of the centre rivulet of San Bernard already
mentioned, which we had passed as I observed, on the 27th, as
it was not yet fordable. This night I arranged that general
Urrea should march at day-break of the following day to the
pass of the Atascosito on the Colorado, in order to refit a raft
that I had left there, or to construct another in case the weather,
current or other accident should have destroyed it. In fact, on
the following day Mr. Urrea went beforer leaving his cannon
and baggage, that they tight not embarrass him, and conimenced
a raft there, which I finisbhed on my arrival. He passed the
Colorado with his section and encatped a league distant from
