Mayor R. W. Miller Is
Appointed Director Of
Brazos River Co-Op.
The Possum Kingdom Dam
(project near Mineral Wells on
the Brazos river was started sev-
eral years ago and was intend-
ted to be just such a project as
Buchanan Dam but the war
came on and many changes have
been made. In fact the project
was halted for the duration but
recently signs of life of the Braz-
os River Transportation Electric
Cooperative Inc. have been very
noticeable and plans are under
(way to continue with original
plans as soon as possible.
" IMayor R. W. Miiller was re
cently offered the (position of
(Manager of the project in l'ort
Worth but due to the fact that
It would necessitate his leaving
Bartlett and breaking away
from many peronal and civic in
Jterests he declined the offer
but due 'to his wide experience
in both municipal government
and Cooperative experience E.
nD. H. Farrow. President of the
project and his board appointed
Mr. Miller as one of the direc-
tors which office he accepted.
In discussing his new duties
and possibilities Mayor Miller
states that he believes ho can
pest serve this communiy by ac
cepting the position of director.
In other words he is looking in
to the future with certain ideas
in mind that with his influence
can be of untold imporance to
Bartlett and the entire trade ter-
Iritory. TVIayor Miller is optimistic
about the REA setup and ipre-
f" diets flargo expansions soon af
ter the ar. He also is firm in
his belief that the experience he
and his city councilmen and di-
rectors of the local Co-op have
received here will assist him
greatly in administering his new
duties and at the same time be
a foundation for further expan
sions that will mean a great
deal to his home town and loyal
friends in years to come.
