SUBSCRIPTION. Four Dollars per Volume cf fifty-two numbers. Single
numbers Ten Ceuts. In all cases payment in advance will be required of Sub-
sciibers living out of the County of Travis or the amount assumed by a respon-
sible resident of the City of Austin or the Agent. In this particular there will
be no respect of persons or deviation from our terms on any account whatever.
ADVERTISING. Advertisements will be inserted at One Dollar per square
of seven lines or less for the first insertion and fifty cents lor each continuance.
One-half these charges will be made to those who advertise by the year with the

Announcements of Candidates for Office and all political personal and busi-
ness Communications promotive of individual interests will be charged as Ad-
Tenisements. ....
All Advertisements the publication of which is required by law must be paid
for in advance.
The twenty-second section of the law regulating fe es of office provides that in
all cases where a citation or other process is required to be served by publication
in a newspaper the officer whose duty it may be to make such service shall be
furnished with the printers' lee for such publication before he shall be required
to have such service made.
The first section ql the act of February 5 1811 regulating the sale of runaway
slaves provides also that where any slave is committed to jail as a runaway a
notice of the apprehension and commitment with a tilldescrintiun of such slave
shall be published weekly in one of the papers at the Seat of Government for the
space of one month and printed copies thereof furnished to the Clerk of the Coun-
ty Court of the county where the commitment shall have been made.
The third section oftheactof February 8th 1850 regulating ESTRAYS
requires the County Cleiks to cause a copy of all certificates uf appraisement and
description ol an animal or animals estrayed in their respective counties to be
forwarded to the Public Printer for the State at the end of every three months
who shall publish the substance of the same and forward cqpyof the paper con-
taining it to the County Clerk to be filed and preserved in his oilice for the in-
spection of those inieiested; for whirh publication or notice the printer shall re-
ceive from the party estrnying the sum of two dollars to be collected from the
taker up by the County Clerk and paid to the order of such Prin'er.
To facilitate the computation of our charges for advertising one hundred wqrds
or less may be considered as constituting a square ; over one hundred and under
uvo hundred words two squares and so on.
Advertisements not marked with the time for which they are Io be published
will be continued until forbid ami charged accordingly.
Subscribers Advertisers and Agents may remit money at our risk and expense.
All communications must be addressed to the Publisher postpaid.

up: branded on tho left shcfulder with F W as well as could bo ascertained:
mid on the right shoulder with n stirrup-iron or something liko it. Appraised
