ADVERTISING. Advertisements will be inserted at One Dollar per square
of seven lines or less for the first insertion and fifty; cents for each continuance.
One-half these charges will be made to those who advertise by the year with the
privilege of changing quarterly.
Business Cards of not more than one square will be insertedfor ten dollars

Announcements of Candidates for Oflice and all political' personal and busi-
ness Communications promotive of individual interests will be charged as Ad-
vertisements. All Advertisements; the publication of which is required by law must be paid
for in advance.
The twenty-second section of the law regulating fees of office provides that in
nil cases where a citalion( or other Process is required.to be served by publication
in a newspaper the officer whose duty it may be to make such service shall be
furnished with the printers' lee for such publication bdfore he shall jie required
to have such service made.
The first section of the act of February 5 l84l regulating tlmsale of runaway
slaves provides also that where any slave isicommiltcd to jail as a runaway a
notice of the apprehension and commitment with a fulljdescription of such slave
.shall bepubllshed weekly in one of the papers ai the Seat of Government for the
space of one month and printed copies thereof furnished to the Clerkof the Coun-
ty Court of the county where the commitment shall have been made.
The third section of the act of February 8th 1850 regulating ESTR AYS
requires the County Clerks to cause a copy of all certificates Of appraisement 'and1
description of an animal or animals estrayed in their respective counties to bj
forwarded1 to the Public Printer for the Stale at the end of every three months
who shall publish the substance of the same and forward copy of the papercon-
taining it to the County Clerk to be filed and preserved in his office for the in-
spection of those interested; lor which publication or notice1 the printer shall rei
ceive from the party estraying the sum of two dollar? to becollected from the
taker up by the County Clerk and paid to the order of such Prin'er.
Advertisements not marked with the time for which they are to be published
will be continued until forbid ana charged accordingly.

WHEREAS Francis Green has filed in tho district court of said county his
petition against Wilson Brown alledging therein that tho said -Wilson
Brown is indebted to him" the said plnintitf' in tho sum of one hundred nnd
twenty-flvo dollars for ono horso sold and delivered by tho plaintiff nt tho
price oi ono hundred and twenty-flvo dollars to tho said Wilson Brown nt his
special instance and request on or about tho 20th day of March 1851 : and the
said plaintiff having mado oath that the said Wilson Brown is absent froni( this
State: Those nro therefore to command you that you summon the said Wilson
Brown by publication1 as tho law directs to bo and appear before tho honbra-
blo tho district court to beholden in and for said county of Milam at tho court-
house thereof in the town of Cameron on tho first Monday after tho fourth
Monday in Soptombor next to answer tho petition of Frauds Groon filed in
said court against him tho said Wilson Brown. Herein fail not and have you
then and thoro this writ and how you have executed tho sumo.
