Secretary Reports
On C C. Banquet
Finances
The Board of Directors is-
sues the following statement
regarding receipts and expen-
ditures for the Annual Ban-
nuet: Receipts: 181 tickets at
$3.50 $633.50; Donation
$3.00 9oti?l Receipts
$636.50.
Expenditures: 225 meals at
$2.25 plus tax $527.77 ; Rental
on Baptist Recreational and
Educational Center $30.00;
Decorations $25.00; Printing
Programs $20.12'; Labor: Pla
ring and taking down chairs
and tables cle?.ning-up
$12.00 ; Printing Tickets
$6.46; Postage $4.60; Tele
phone $.56; Total Expendi
tures $626.50.
Excess Receipts over Ex
penditures $10.00.
Approximately 125 local
people paid for their tickets;
56 out-of-town people paid; 44
out of town guests received
complimentary tickets. It can
be seen that $3.50 was not an
excessive price for tickets. Ac-
tually a few more complimen-
tary tickets should have been
issued to key out-of-town per-
sons. A Chamber of Commerce
banquet is not necessarily a
money-making proposition.
Perhaps it should go in the
hole if by doing so the tovn
is given a good image. Finally
the cost of the two Citizenship
plaques and of the Agricultu-
ral plaques is not included in
the banquet cost. These awards
are associated with the banquet
but not in its budget.
