Congress has acted to put tho
nation back on standard time
as opposed to daylight saving
time from November through
February. Wish the Congress
had gone a little further say
through April but this action
anay save tfomo lives of school
children starting to school in tho
dark during tho winter.
One of the sad things about
Jiving to a ripe old age is that
3ou outlive all your friends.

nouncement by Gov. Dolph Bris-
coe state aid payments to school
districts will be increased in
September. This early payment
will allow school districts to
operate without danger of in-
terest cost on' short-term bor-
rowing. Briscoe has said ho
would recommend emergency
legislation in January to in-
crease state aid by 510.00 per
3upil. .

in a Taylor hospital.
Funeral services will be held
today (Thursday) at 9:45 a. m.
in Condra Funeral Home in
Granger and at 10 a. m. at SS.

Tydlacka officiating. Burial

Mrs. Dora Albrecht
Funeral services for Mrs.
Dora Albrecht 82 local resi
dent were conduced at 2 p.m.
Sunday at the St. John Luther
an Church with Rev. Garland
Kncten officiating. Burial was
in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Albrecht died early Fri-
day night in a Temple hospital
following a short illness.
Mrs. Albrecht was a life long
resident of the local area. She
was a member of St. John
Lutheran Church of which she
joined at an early age. She was
an active member of the Miss-
ionary Society the Ladies Aid
Society of tho church. She was
n member of the Bartlett Home
Demonstration Club and other
Civic and Charity Organiza-
tions. Mrs. (Albrecht was preceded
in death by her husband Mar-
tin Albrecht in January 1937.
Survivors include three sons
Curtis Albrecht of Robstown
Oscar Albright of Tcague and
Monroe Albright of Temple ; one
daughter Mrs. Edna Bailey of
Temple; a twin sister Mrs.
Emma Schultz of Bartlett two
other sisters Mrs. Annie Stein
of Dallas and Mrs. Minnie Kelm
of Bartlett; six grandchildren
and eight great-grandchildren;
Carol Martin and Harry Brown
Jon and Saci of Palestine; Eliza
beth and Walter Geyer of Dal-
las; Edwin Bailey of Houston;
Dolores and Alvin Dusek Kat-
hy and David of League City;
Christine and Ronnie Harwell
