strong, robust body as well as other parts of the human make-
up. Foot ball, as it is played at Yale and other Eastern Col-
leges was introduced this year; and Wiley's prowess in base
ball is well-known throughout this section. Roughness and
rowdyism, which have brought these games into disrepute in
many places, are not allowed at Wiley.
Several information.
WILEY UNIVERSITY.
LoCATION--Marshall, Texas, is the county seat of Harri-
son county, a railroad town and a thriving little city of nearly
ten-thousand inhabitants.
THE UNIVERSITY-Buildings and grounds are on a beau-
tiful elevation, above three-fourths of a mile southwest of
court-house. Fine trees, pure air, excellent water, a more
desirable location for a university would be hard to find.
NEW BUILDING-The work on the new building moves
along steadily. The walls are up, the roof is on and nine
rooms, including a large, well arranged chapel, have been fin-
ished and furnished. We plan to complete the building dur-
ing the year and to this end friends everywhere are asked to
assist us.
Wiley Free Labor Volunteers.
When the Cincinnati authorities gave permission to
make a start on ithe Central Building, no provisions were
made for making excavation preparatory to putting in the
foundation. When the matter was mentioned to the young,
men they quickly and willingly agreed to make the necessary
excavations. They organized themselves into the "Wiley
Free Labor Companies" (fifteen men to the Company) with
the following officers: Maj., Prof. M. W. Dogan; Capt., J.
H. Roberts; Lieut., Company A., E. W. Kelly; B., M. E.
