"Chain 7" was the brand of Crow Wright who has
many descendents living today in Denton County. The
largest ranch of horses in the southwest was, possibly,
the drove owned by Crow Wright. At one time he had
over 1,000 horses on his ranch. And there were others:
John Paine of the Pilot Knob area; James W. Medlin
in the southern part of the county; Dave W. Light in
