levels. Johanna was also active in Cranfills
Gap Garden Club and other school and civic
functions. She died in Bosque County in
1968. Bill then married Etta Mae Pendleton
Dittrich. He died in Bosque County in 1975.
William and Johanna Bertelsen spent a
lifetime of service to the family, church,
community, and county they loved.JoAnn (Lindberg, Amundson) Blum of Cran-
fills Gap and Karen Jean (Lindberg) Dowdy
of Duncanville. In 1947, Janice moved with
her family to their farm near Cranfills Gap.
She was confirmed in St. Olaf Lutheran
Church, attended Cranfills Gap School and
was active in the 4-H Club where she received
the Gold Star award. Janice graduated from
Cranfills Gap High School in 1961 and moved
to Dallas, where she worked for the Federal
Reserve Bank one year and as a secretary in
the Tax and Legal department of Southern
Union Gas Co. for two years.
Bellamy and Janice have two children:
Julie Bellamy, born in 1965 and William
Brandon, born in 1968. Julie and Brandon
were born in Goodall-Witcher Hospital,
Clifton. Julie is a 1984 graduate of Clifton
High School and enjoys music, children and
fashion merchandising. Bandon is a student
at Clifton High and enjoys band and sports.
In 1973, Bellamy and Janice purchased the
E.E. Keeling department store which is now
Bertelsen's of Clifton and in 1977, they
moved to Clifton from Cranfills Gap.
Bellamy is a member and past president
and director of the Clifton Chamber of
Commerce; member and past treasurer of the
Lions Club; member of the American Legion
and member of the church council of Trinity
Lutheran Church.

William Bellamy Bertelsen was born in
1940 in Cranfills Gap to William Bertrand
Bertelsen (1905-1975) and Johanna (Chris-
tensen) Bertelsen (1905-1968) He has one
sister, Christabel (Bertelsen) Jorgenson of
San Marcos. Bellamy was baptized and
confirmed (1955) at St. Olaf Lutheran
Church in Cranfills Gap and in 1958 was
graduated from Cranfills Gap High School.
He attended Texas Lutheran College, Seguin
for two years and received his BBA degree
from Sam Houston State University in 1962.
The same year, he joined the U.S. Air Force
and served in the reserves as a medic until he
received his honorable discharge in 1968.
From 1962 until 1972, Bellamy worked for his
father in the First Security State Bank and
Bertelsen Insurance Agency in Cranfills Gap
and Farmers State Bank in Meridian. He
served as bookkeeper, cashier, vice president,
and director. He was also director of Iredell

In 1964, Bellamy and Janice Elaine Lind-
berg were married in St. Olaf Lutheran
Church. Janice, the youngest daughter of
Milton Julian Lindberg (1905) and Odessa
(Carr) Lindberg (1908), was born in 1943 at
Goodall-Witcher Hospital in Clifton. She was
baptized at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in
the Norse community where she lived for four
years with her parents and two sisters, Bettymembers of Trinity Lutheran Church. They
enjoy camping, going to market for the store
and just being together.
